Lost Planet 3, players control Jim Peyton, who travels beyond our solar system to provide for his family on Earth.Peyton is hired by Neo-Venus Construction (NEVEC) to prepare the icy planet E.D.N. III for colonization.Earth faces an energy crisis, which can be solved using thermal energy, a substance abundant on E.D.N. III.The planet is inhabited by alien creatures called Akrid, which come in various shapes and sizes, all bent on turning Peyton into their next meal.Players navigate the cold wilderness of E.D.N.
